Zero Balancing Blends Bodywork, Energy Work |
|
by Paul Cohen, Zero Balancing Teacher and Practitioner / ZeroBalancing.com
Zero Balancing can be defined as the art and skill of balancing body energy with body structure through touch. The working focus in Zero balancing is the interface between the structure of the bones, joints and soft tissues and the energy flowing through our skeletal system. Zero Balancing uses specific finger pressure and held stretches, called fulcrums. A fulcrum provides a point of stillness around which energy and structure can reorganize, giving a person the opportunity to let go of held tension and pain and experience new levels of integration. The results have a gentle power and contribute to an overall enhancement of well-being. The energy flowing through the most fundamental level of our structure, our bones, can be most easily evaluated at the joints. Zero Balancing focuses on particular joints that have more to do with transmission of energy rather than with locomotion. Examples of these include the sacroiliac joints and the articulations between the tarsal bones of the feet, which are referred to as foundation joints. One of the key characteristics of these joints is their limited range of motion.

Five Ways To Have A Healthier Animal |
by Dr. Christina Chambreau, DVM / Founder of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy
The following suggestions - applicable to humans and other animals alike - are five ways to help your companion animal live a longer, healthier life: 1. Feed the best diet; 2. Vaccinate the least; 3. Treat the underlying energy problems, not just try to get
rid of current symptoms; 4. Know the possible outcomes of treatment, so you can decide
if the practitioner you are using now is helping your animal
as much as possible or is only palliating so you need to
choose a different practitioner or modality; and 5. Provide the best environment for that individual.

Surviving Betrayal Requires A Leap of Faith |
by Cynthia Wall, LCSW / Counselor Certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming
How can you forgive? Few have been given step-by-step instructions on what to do if you feel betrayed. You may have been told to "forgive and forget," but couldn't. Forgiveness is a word that evokes conflicting meanings within each person. The most powerful result of forgiveness is to allow the forgiver to reclaim the peace of mind that comes from letting go of past hurts. You need never to condone the action, nor deny the painful feelings - in fact, you must bravely acknowledge the facts and experiences totally in order to know what you are ready to release. Perhaps most significantly, in terms of sanity and safety, forgiving does not require having to let the betrayer back into your life! Forgiveness is about accepting any lessons learned, releasing the feelings still trapped inside, and seeking peace of mind. Only then is it possible to let go of the remnants of the shame, fear and anger that is created by betrayal.

Manifesting Reality: How We Make Things Happen |
by Todd Werner / Musician and Writer
At some level, each of us has always known that we have attracted people, things, and events into our lives based on our thoughts. The recognition of that is in our daily speech, such phrases as; "What you put your attention on grows", "Be careful what you wish (pray) for" etc. Thought is a quick light, mobile form of energy that manifests instantaneously. It is now time in our evolution to consciously embrace our divine nature and to truly experience what has always been promised to us … "Ask, and it shall be given to you…" For me, manifesting is an active form of prayer in which we are more consciously aware and focused. It is what many call "co-creating". Whatever we think about the most, believe in the strongest, expect on the deepest levels, or imagine the most vividly about, shall be our experience. This article includes a few tips for your venture toward consciously manifesting as well as inspirational quotes about the power of thought.

Bringing Watsu to Austin |
|
by Thomas Thacker / Founder of Watsunami.com
Watsu is a relatively new (1980) form of bodywork that has been available in the Austin area since 1994. Watsu combines working with Shiatsu pressure points in the medium of a warm (93-98 degrees) water pool. This practitioner also utilizes the ancient healing energy of Reiki during a Watsu session to help bring about a profound state of relaxation. In states of deep relaxation, the body, mind and spirit are empowered to heal in extraordinary ways. In the Autumn of 1994, I purchased a specially designed Watsu pool and the necessary equipment for heating, filtering and pumping the water. I found a more healthy sanitizing product than chlorine which utilizes hydrogen peroxide. I then began educating Austinites who were mostly and understandably ignorant about Watsu (whatsu?). An article about my practice was published in the "Alternative Health Newsletter" and I put up flyers around town and waited for clients to pour into the pool. They trickled in instead and they were daring souls to try this practically unheard of therapy.

Buteyko Method - 'Healthy Breathing' |
|
by Rosalba Courtney-Belford / Australian WellBeing Magazine (via Breathingco2.com)
Good breathing, like good nutrition, is breathing that meets the body's needs and provides optimal conditions for health. It doesn't mean that the more you breathe the better off you are, any more than the key to good nutrition is not eating more. In fact, one of the most potent healing tools is the restricted diet or fasting. It may be that you need to breathe less, but that the breathing should be of a better quality and more appropriate to your body's energy expenditure. This article is based on the discoveries and clinical observations of Russian physician Dr Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko about the use of breathing as a tool for overcoming the symptoms of disease and for enhancing health.

The Use of Affirmations: Preparing the Ground |
by Rick Moss / EssentialPathways.com
Affirmations are like spiritual antidotes. They combat false beliefs. But to be truly effective, affirmations cannot be dumped into the mind like stones into a pond. A premise of Pre-Cognitive Re-Education is that Affirmations should be introduced in such a way that they can be accepted by the subconscious. For example, if someone believes (consciously or subconsciously) that life is pain, they cannot initially accept the affirmation that "life is bliss "or "I am the fullness I seek." The mind responds with "no way" or "this does not compute". If introduced without properly preparing the mind, the inappropriate affirmation will not be accepted. Preparing the mind for affirmation is very much like preparing the soil for a seed. And we know from the teachings of the past the futility of casting seed upon a rock. Whether we are working on our own or with a client, preparing the ground of the mind to receive affirmations of truth is an important aspect of the transformation process. Several suggestions for how to do this are included in this article.
